Tsonga is the real deal... ask Novak

Marseilles ATP Feb. 22
Top Players:
Djokovic
Simon
Monfils
Tsonga
Berdych
Safin
Lopez

Underdog Pick: Safin

Semi's Results:

Tsonga d. Djokovic 6-4 7-6(1)

Llodra d. Simon 7-6(5) 6-2

Other notable results that weren't posted yesterday because I'm a slacker:

Llodra d. Youzhny 7-6(4) 7-6(3)

Tsonga d. Lopez 6-2 6-7(1) 6-4

First things first... Good fight Lopez. I tend to be a bit rough on him because he never seems to live up to his talent, but obviously that Tsonga match was a battle and if he can truely play at that level consistently It'd be a bit relieving to me.

Djokovic: For being someone so terribly concerned that Murray was thought of being near your "elite group"... you've had a bit of a rough start to the year.

Lets review '09 so far shall we?

Brisbane - Lost to Gulbis in the first round

Sydney - Lost to Nieminen in the Semi's

Aussie Open - QUIT against Roddick in the Quarters (I hate quitters but thats beside the point)

Marseille - Lost to Tsonga in the Semi's

It could potentially be hard to back up your arguement that your one of the top 3 and Murray isn't at this point in the year, better pick up your game or stop with the trash talking... one of the two.

That being said, I don't think Murray OR Djokovic deserve to be thought of on the same level as Nadal and Federer yet, they both still have a LOT to prove.

The Final:
Tsonga vs. Llodra has never happened before so we have no history to drive a guess.. However I think theres a fairly clear edge I have to give to Tsonga on this. The current #12 in the world (Tsonga) is going to take down #50 in straight sets, and capture his second ATP title of the very young year.

I can't believe Tsonga is as low as #12. Too many points to defend at the AO I guess.
